If during lockdown you were asked to shield and received a letter from either ourselves or the Government, you will be invited to attend a COVID secure Flu Clinic at the surgery on Monday 5th October 2020. This clinic is dedicated for only those who were asked to shield & we will be unable to book anyone else in this clinic.
18-65 YEAR OLD ELIGIBLE PATIENTS & OVER 65 YEAR OLD PATIENTS
We will be holding the normal flu clinics for anyone in these categories and will send you an invite if you are eligible.
These clinics are by appointment only from Tuesday 6th October – Friday 9th October 2020.
We will be holding dedicated clinics for childrens fluenz which anyone eligible will be invited to attend when we have the delivery dates.
PATIENTS AGED 50-64
We are awaiting further communication from the Government with regards to these additional vaccinations. Please do not call the surgery about this as we have no information as yet.
ATTENDING YOUR FLU VACCINATION APPOINTMENT
To allow for new COVID social distancing we will have procedures in place and ask that anyone booked in the flu clinics please follow the instructions given by staff.
Please ensure you adhere to social distancing of 2m and wear a face covering when you attend.
2020 FLU Clinics
Appointment only clinics
Flu clinics are by appointment only to ensure adequate social distancing to protect our patients and staff.
Monday 5th October 2020- exclusively reserved for those patients that were sent a letter by the NHS asking them to Shield.
Tuesday 6th- Friday 9th October 2020- All other eligible cohorts.
You are eligible for a flu vaccination:
- If you are age 65+
- If you were on the NHS identified shielding list
- Suffer with any of the below conditions
-Chronic Lung Disease
-Chronic Heart Disease
-Chronic Kidney or Liver Disease
-Chronic neurological disease
- Are currently pregnant
- Are a carer
- Live with a member of the shielding cohort.
Please note that people in the 50-64-year old age group will not be vaccinated until November and December, providing there is sufficient vaccine, and no appointments will be offered for this age group until then. This is to ensure that those who are most at risk are vaccinated first. If you are 50-64 and you are in one of the other groups which is eligible for the flu vaccination, for example you have a health condition which puts you at risk from the flu, you will be invited earlier.

When you attend please remember not to arrive early to your appointment to avoid queuing and wear a face mask.
